Elderly man killed in unit blaze in Bonnyrigg, NSW

An elderly man who was rescued by firefighters from a burning building in Sydney has died.
Emergency services rushed to a burning unit in Brown Rd, Bonnyrigg, at around 5.20pm on Tuesday after the alarm went off.
Police and fire crews arriving at the scene detected smoke coming from the workplace.
A man in his 80s was removed from the fire with police performing CPR until paramedics from NSW Ambulance arrived at the scene.

However, despite all the interventions, the man died at the scene.
While the man’s identity has not yet been officially determined, the investigation into the fire continues.
A report will also be prepared for the state medical examiner.
