Jeremy Clarkson reveals he has cancer: Tearful presenter shares devastating diagnosis while filming for Clarkson’s Farm

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he has been diagnosed with ‘aggressive’ cancer in a devastating clip for his Amazon Prime Video show.

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter shared the news in the final two episodes of the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm, which aired overnight.

Episodes saw the visibly emotional 66-year-old breaking the news to shaken co-stars Charlie and Kaleb Cooper, who run the Diddly Squat Farm with him in the Cotswolds.

While the trio was talking about their plans for the upcoming harvest in the program, the broadcaster gave them bombshell news.

On stage, Clarkson leans back in her chair and, trying to maintain her composure, tells the shocked couple: ‘I have cancer.’

Incredulous, Kaleb immediately responds: ‘No, you didn’t. Where?’ Clarkson calls it: ‘It’s nobody’s business. I’ve known since May.’

The father of three revealed that he had been diagnosed with an ‘aggressive’ form of cancer and would have to take leave during the harvest.

He says: ‘You remember, I went for a health check in May. I disappeared last week and had a biopsy, it’s cancer and it’s an aggressive disease but it’s still very early so there will be a cure, you know.

‘I was praying I could finish the harvest and then I could go and get some treatment but it’s going to be a slap in the middle.’

Meanwhile, a tearful Kaleb stands behind him and says: ‘Take care of yourself, go and do it… if you need anything, just call.’

Clarkson said he needed surgery and that his body would be ‘immobilized for a while’ as a result, adding that he was ‘not thrilled’ at the prospect.

Speaking to girlfriend Lisa Hogan, Kaleb, Charlie and Gerald in a later scene, Clarkson says: ‘So we started the year and I had coronary heart disease and ended it with cancer.

‘We can dwell on all the bad things that happen on the farm all we want, but I think it’s better now to focus on the good things that happen at the end of the year.’

When Kaleb asks when they will know if the treatments work on the cancer, he replies: ‘I don’t know, I have a blood test today, the blood test will be done and then we will find out.

‘Not for a few more weeks. ‘C’mon cheer up, it probably worked.’

However, the series then goes on to show Clarkson in her hospital bed, where it reveals that things did not go entirely as planned.

He says: ‘Some of the treatment went wrong, let’s say I’ll be here for a while. I’m zero word of mouth, I don’t know what will happen.

‘What I meant to say was, if this is successful I’ll see you in season six, if not I won’t. ‘Take care of everyone.’

Clarkson had previously hinted that all was not well, posting a clip on her Instagram account yesterday warning viewers that it would be ‘difficult’ to watch upcoming episodes.

He said: ‘Gloomy news, Clarkson’s Farm. Normally we try to keep the show idyllic, engaging and cheerful.

‘But the last two episodes, airing at midnight tonight, are actually neither of those things.

‘These are difficult shifts. They’re really hard.”

Meanwhile, in a press release ahead of the first episodes of season five, Prime Video ominously warned: ‘In the climactic episodes, things get dark as bad luck attacks from all sides, causing great upset and tension in every way possible.’

However, Clarkson has been busy since the series was filmed; Production is currently underway on a new series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, which he hosts, and the sixth season of Clarkson’s Farm has been ordered by Prime Video.

It comes after a difficult few years for the streamer, who was hospitalized with chest pain in 2024.

While in the ward doctors discovered one of his arteries was ‘completely blocked’ and the presenter later said ‘days had passed since his death’.

Fortunately, surgeons were able to solve the problem by inserting a stent, which is a small, expandable mesh tube inserted into narrow or blocked coronary arteries to help restore blood flow.

The 66-year-old presenter was previously sick with unbearable chest pains in 2024 and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where doctors removed one of his arteries.

When she returned to work following a health scare in an early episode of the fifth series, Clarkson told Kaleb: ‘I came back and I didn’t die. Azrael will have to wait. But it was so close.”

The former Top Gear presenter has revealed he felt unwell for the first time in 2024 after swimming in the Indian Ocean during holiday.

‘It wasn’t far, maybe two swimming pools long,’ he explained. But when I finally reached the beach, there was more water in my lungs than in Lake Superior, and I was nearly dead.’

Clarkson returned to Britain and “a sudden deterioration began to gather pace” and he began to feel “clammy”, “tightness in my chest” and “pins and needles in my left arm”

This led to him being hospitalized; Here, the possibility of a heart attack was ruled out after taking an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood tests and x-rays.

After the life-saving surgery, he was warned by doctors that he would need to make major lifestyle changes.

Clarkson’s Farm has gone on and off and become a huge hit since it first launched on Amazon Prime in 2021 having four successful series.

The fifth series was announced in December 2024, followed by filming last year and wrapping in February 2026.
