Man, woman seriously hurt in Mississauga, manhunt underway

Police are hunting for a 46-year-old man believed to be armed and dangerous after an incident in Mississauga left two people hospitalized with serious injuries.

Peel Regional Police said they responded to reports of a disturbance Thursday at about 7 p.m. in the Hurontario St.-Lakeshore Rd. area of Port Credit, where a large police presence was reported northeast of Hurontario.

A mobile command unit and officers were still stationed outside of a house on Briarwood Ave. as of Thursday night.

Victims in life-threatening condition: Report
Peel paramedics told CP24 that they performed life-saving measures on the victims and that they were transported to a hospital in life-threatening condition.
Details were not immediately available on what type of injuries the victims had and the circumstances leading up to the disturbance, although sources told the Toronto Sun‘s Joe Warmington that it appeared the victims were suffering from blunt-force trauma and that the man was rushed to hospital without vital signs.

Police said they are looking for Jordan Sangwin, 46, “in connection with this investigation.
“Do not approach, please call 911 if seen,” police said, adding that Sangwin is considered armed and dangerous.
Sources told the Toronto Sun that “from all understandings” Sangwin is known to police. It was unclear, however, what his relation was to the victims.
Police were expected to update the media later.
