RICHARD EDEN: ‘Highly unusual’ clue Harry may visit Diana’s grave with his children

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to bring their children to see King Charles for the first time in four years. They can also pay a touching visit to pay tribute to their late grandmother when they travel from California to Britain next month.

I can reveal that Althorp, the stately home where Princess Diana grew up, will be closed to the public for two days, while Prince Harry and Meghan will be in the country with seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet.

‘This is quite an unusual situation,’ a source familiar with the Althorp estate told me. ‘When the house is open to visitors it is usually not closed.’

The Northamptonshire estate, run by Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, is open to the public for only two months of the year: July and August.

If the family visits, Diana’s grandchildren will be given the opportunity to visit her grave for the first time. The princess is buried on an island in the ornamental lake in Althorp gardens.

Harry rowed Meghan to the island on a boat when they stayed in Althorp in 2022 on the 25th anniversary of his mother’s death in a car crash in Paris.

Princess Diana’s childhood home, Althorp (now run by her brother Earl Spencer), will be closed to the public for two days while Prince Harry and Meghan are in the UK.

‘I was finally bringing home the girl of my dreams to meet my mother,’ Harry wrote in his memoir Spare, published the following year. Harry left his wife alone after leaving flowers on her grave. ‘When I came back, Meg was kneeling, her eyes closed, her palms pressed against the stone.’

Earl Spencer invited his sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, to join them for the event so the Sussexes could spend time with Harry’s aunts.

Harry and Meghan are coming to Britain to promote the Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham, an hour’s drive from Althorp, in July 2027.

Like Eton College, which Prince George will attend in September, Radley is a single-sex school.

Lady Marina’s glossy mag wedding deal

King Charles’ nephew Peter Phillips caused outrage when he sold exclusive photo rights to his first wedding to Hello! for a reported £500,000. But fellow underage royal Lady Marina Windsor is also determined.

The 33-year-old grandson of the Duke of Kent, who is a charity events manager, will exchange vows with cyber security expert Nico Macauley this afternoon and they sold the pictures to the glossy magazine. ‘Marina won’t be getting anything like the £500,000 Peter got in 2008,’ a source told me. ‘Those days are long gone. But the money needs to cover the wedding expenses.’

Did 83-year-old Lord crush tree vandals?

Wealthy landowner Lord Inchcape and his wife Georgina celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a lavish party for friends at their home in Clyffe Pypard, Wiltshire, last weekend.

I heard this happened against the background of a growing dispute with two men that the village was talking about.

Lord Inchcape, 83, took out an injunction against the men, who claimed to have bought a field on the border of his property and were accused of cutting down trees in the adjacent woodland, an important part of pheasant hunting.

‘Lord Inchcape got a court order against them and made the estate agents block the road to the field with tree stumps,’ one local told me.

‘There is a warning pinned to one of the logs warning trespassers to leave.’

Kelly: My mental health isn’t great.

Kelly Osbourne, whose dramatic weight loss worried friends last year, appears to be in better health.

The 41-year-old reality TV star lost her father, Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne, almost a year ago and told me: ‘I’m in therapy and have been for a while.’

Kelly Osbourne, who recently lost her father Ozzy, opened up about her mental health at an auction in London this week.

Speaking at the LAX.BID Power Is Not Silence auction at the Brunswick Art Gallery in London, Kelly said: ‘As the world knows, my mental health hasn’t been great lately, but every day I’m getting a little better and I’m getting my strength back, I’m working on myself and doing what I need to do for myself at the moment.

‘I silenced most of the noise.’

Kelly proved to be one of the event’s most enthusiastic bidders, successfully purchasing an 18-carat gold-and-diamond Rolex for £10,000 and an 1857 Queen Victoria gold monarch for £1,200.

Steph McGovern’s Deadline won the first crime book of the year award at the Fingerprint Awards in London this week, but the TV presenter may struggle to meet a deadline for her next novel. “I left my laptop on a flight at Heathrow, it has a second book in it that I didn’t back up,” he wails at the Capital Crime Festival.

‘I’ve just finished the first draft, it’s 84,000 words.’

Talk about a cliffhanger…

More than 11 million fans have registered online for the chance to score tickets to one of 30 Harry Styles concerts at Madison Square Garden later this year; is just one leg of the pop superstar’s Together Together Tour.

Perhaps 32-year-old Styles, who is secretly engaged to American actress Zoe Kravitz, took action thinking of them, especially those who were left without tickets.

He just filed for a trademark for ‘Harry Styles Treats People with Kindness’. How can Harry, who has an estimated fortune of £235 million and whose series Together Together is expected to gross $1 billion, show ‘kindness’? Is there a discount on ticket prices?

Butler ‘had to rein in’ moody young prince

Let’s hope Prince Harry is all grown up when he returns to the UK next month.

The Duchess of Beaufort recalled his foolish and rude behavior at Badminton House, her home in Gloucestershire.

Speaking in a brand new episode of the Mail’s podcast Queens, Kings & Dastardly Things, the Georgia duchess tells how she was invited to Harry’s 18th birthday party at Badminton.

‘Everyone got so excited and started throwing all the girls into the swimming pool,’ she explains.

The Duchess of Beaufort, who was photographed with her husband Henry Somerset, Marquess of Worcester, said she was appalled by young Prince Harry's behavior in their home.

The Duchess of Beaufort, who was photographed with her husband Henry Somerset, Marquess of Worcester, said she was appalled by young Prince Harry’s behavior in their home.

The story emerged in her husband Harry’s memoir The Impossible Duke, in which she described the prince throwing women over his shoulder like ‘sacks of coal’.

Georgia is horrified. ‘They were all wearing their beautiful party dresses. And it had to be stopped,’ he says. ‘Steve the butler had to restrain him.’

The Duchess was speaking ahead of next month’s RHS Badminton Flower Show, the UK’s biggest garden festival. Those with additional tickets will have the chance to revisit the scene of the prince’s crime.

She fought tirelessly for the release of her late husband, Old Etonian ex-SAS officer Simon Mann, following the ‘Wonga Coup’ against Equatorial Guinea’s President Obiang in 2004 – and Amanda Mann’s spirit remains undimmed despite recent adversity.

In 2024, Simon left the mother of his four children for a woman 23 years his junior; but he succumbed to a heart attack last year. But tonight he is hosting the first of two musical evenings in the gardens of his marital home, Kingfishers, on the Hampshire coast. ‘This is for a charity, Hammersley Homes,’ he told me.

During Simon’s detention, Amanda received a T-shirt bearing the slogan ‘A man is for Christmas’. Not for life.” Maybe he’ll wear it this weekend?
