Farmers Urge Resolution of Amaravati Land Concerns

vijayawada: Farmers from Rayapudi village in Amaravati capital district, who recently transferred their land to the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) as part of the capital development programme, met with Union Minister of State Dr. Pemmasani met Chandrasekhar at his camp office in Kolanukonda and sought rectification of several pending issues regarding land pooling and layout.
Farmers expressed their gratitude to the minister for responding positively to their concerns and providing support in resolving the problems arising from the development process of the capital region.
During the meeting, they informed him of various issues related to the allocation of commercial plots, add-on issues regarding road access, and some concerns regarding the layout. The issues mainly relate to Rayapudi farmers, who did not participate in the first phase of Amaravati land sharing but are now contributing to the development of the capital with their land.
Dr Pemmasani assured the farmers that he will take up their concerns with CRDA officials and CRDA Commissioner and endeavor to find a positive solution. He said farmers’ legitimate complaints will be forwarded to the authorities and will be followed up until a satisfactory solution is found.
The farmers informed the minister that they had voluntarily handed over their land to the state government for the greater benefit of Amaravati’s development and thanked him for continuing to deal with their issues. They also highlighted many development-related issues specific to Rayapudi district and sought his intervention.
Responding to the representatives’ statements, Dr. Pemmasani reiterated that the coalition government is committed to protecting the interests of farmers and ensuring justice for them. He assured the delegation that he would continue to work to address their concerns and ensure fair treatment of all affected land donors.
