Rod Stewart nearly faints on stage, needs oxygen during Utah concert

Rod Stewart nearly suffered a medical emergency mid-show just weeks after canceling multiple concerts due to health issues.
The 81-year-old musician, who performed at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater in West Valley City on Friday, sparked concerns after visibly slowing down midway through the concert.
One Video obtained by TMZStewart began to rely heavily on various pieces of equipment as he attempted to perform. At one point he turned around and nodded to a group of people backstage who were quickly tending to him.
One woman removed her oxygen tank, and another applied a cold compress to her neck.

“The show must go on,” Stewart said on the microphone, admitting he “almost fainted.”
A representative for Stewart did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Last month Stewart canceled two shows in Las Vegas just a few hours before going on stage.

The rock legend was scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30, but the event was canceled before the doors opened.

A representative for Stewart said: Las Vegas Review“Following his doctor’s advice, Rod Stewart regretfully canceled his appearances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 29 and 30, but is scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2.”2
An additional statement from Stewart himself read: “I apologize to my fan family. I am on vocal rest recovering from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming show at Caesars Palace or on our tour this summer.”

Earlier this month, Stweart canceled additional shows in California.
“Well, here I am in beautiful Chula Vista as the stage is being lifted up around me. I feel so much better after the treatment, but my voice doesn’t,” she wrote on Instagram Stories at the time. San Diego Union Tribune.
“I am very disappointed and sincerely apologize to my fans for the inconvenience caused. I did everything I could to make the show happen tonight but unfortunately it was not possible. I will do my best to reschedule,” he said.
A day later, Stewart shared a video in which he was seen on his private jet with sons Liam, 31, and Alastair, 20.
“Me and the boys are going to Boston to see our Scotland in the World Cup! No Scotland, no party,” he wrote in his caption.
After videos and photos emerged of Stewart enjoying the football match, the musician sparked a backlash, with some fans voicing their anger in the comments section of his post.

“That sounds pretty disingenuous, especially after your cancellation last night. It’s too bad for performing, but would you mind flying across the country for football?” wrote one Instagram user.
“So I guess you just blew off all the people in San Diego who wanted to see you in concert but could have gone to the world cup! I’m a big fan of yours but I don’t think this is cool,” another added.

Although Stewart has yet to address the latest onstage issue, he has made it clear that he has no plans to give up on music.
After announcing a farewell tour in 2024, he announced that he was giving up on major tours, not performing altogether.

“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no intention of retiring,” he said in a statement on social media. “I love what I do and I do what I love.”
He continued: “I’m fit, I have a full head of hair and at 79 I can run 100 meters in 18 seconds.”
