Met Office names 50 areas facing 40C heat on Wednesday – full list | Weather | News

The Met Office has identified 50 areas in the UK where temperatures could reach 40 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.

The agency has issued red weather warnings for hot weather for the south and south-east of England.

The Met Office says these areas are now “increasingly likely to see a period of two to three days where the maximum temperature in the shade exceeds 37 degrees Celsius, perhaps rising to 38 to 40 degrees Celsius in some places.”
