No Use of YSRC Kapu Meeting: Nanaji

Kakinada: Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Venkateswara Rao (Nanaji) on Monday criticized the Kapu community meeting organized by YSRC leaders at Venkatayapalem village in Ramachandrapuram mandal of Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district and questioned its purpose and outcomes.

Addressing the media, Nanaji alleged that the leaders who attended the meeting did not outline their demands to the current government or explain what they would do for the society if YSRC came back to power.

The Jana Sena MLA also criticized YSRC Kapu leaders for focusing their criticism on Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan. He said Pawan Kalyan advocates inclusive politics and tries to go beyond caste-based political mobilization.

Nanaji also claimed that the alliance government, especially Pawan Kalyan, will not tolerate criminal activities and asserted that action should be taken against criminals irrespective of political affiliation. He also criticized several former YSRC ministers and questioned their performance during the previous government’s tenure.

Referring to former MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, Nanaji alleged that he abused power while in office and remained away from public life after the election defeat.

The MLA warned that Jana Sena will respond harshly to criticism against Pawan Kalyan and other alliance leaders. He also fielded Jagan Mohan Reddy from Kakinada Rural constituency.

YSRC MLC Thota Trimurthulu condemned Nanaji’s comments. He said that if the MLA resigns from his post, “I will contest against him as an Independent candidate from Kakinada Rural constituency.”

Trimurthulu denied allegations that he was involved in land grabbing and challenged Nanaji to prove the allegations. He also argued that caste continues to play an important role in electoral politics and political representation.

Former MP Vanga Geetha also criticized Nanaji’s remarks and warned him against making personal comments.
