An anniversary present from Harry? Duchess of Sussex debuts new ring – and royal fans say it looks very similar to Kate’s engagement band

She is known for her elegant jewelery and royal fans think the Duchess of Sussex has added a new ring to her collection.
Meghan Markle, 44, of Montecito, Calif., showed off the artwork in a May 11 Instagram post, suggesting it could be an early anniversary gift from husband Prince Harry, which coincides with their special day on May 19.
Others claimed the piece bore a striking resemblance to the Princess of Wales’s 12-carat oval sapphire engagement ring, which previously belonged to her mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
In her latest As Ever post shared yesterday, Meghan wore the ring again while picking fresh fruit and vegetables in the garden.
Someone covering X said: ‘Meghan Markle is seen wearing a new ring in her latest As Ever video that looks like Princess Diana and Princess Catherine’s engagement ring!’
It comes after rumors that Harry chose Diana’s Garrard sapphire engagement ring and William chose a Cartier Tank Française watch following the death of Princess Diana.
In 2010, the brothers are believed to have switched possessions so William could use the ring to propose to Catherine, Princess of Wales. Harry then gave the luxury watch to Meghan.
But the Duke of Sussex branded these reports ‘absolute nonsense’ in his bombshell biography Spare, published in 2023.

Instead, Harry claimed that William already had his mother’s ring when he proposed to Kate, so he was never asked to give it up.
It comes after claims that Meghan’s latest promotion for her lifestyle brand, in which she showed off the ring, “missed the mark” after fans were confused about what she was trying to sell.
The Duchess of Sussex, who celebrated Father’s Day on June 21 with a new photo of her husband, the Duke of Sussex, and their children, shared a flashy ad for As Ever that shows her carrying a basket of fruit and vegetables and sipping tea.
In the clip, Meghan, dressed in a blue striped shirt and white trousers, was seen walking barefoot through her garden, carrying a wicker basket filled with apples, artichokes, peaches and tomatoes.
The footage was set to birdsong as Meghan smiled at the camera, sipped a cup of tea and struck a series of poses, with the clip captioned: ‘A basket full of summer.’
But the promotion took X users by surprise, as it seemingly focused less on the brand’s products and more on the Duchess.
“I think this is the weakest part of the campaign as the product takes a backseat to the personality,” wrote one X user. ‘If people are talking more about poses and camera angles than tea or jam, marketing has missed the mark.’
Another thought Meghan had ‘no idea who her target market is’, while a third wrote: ‘I don’t understand the fruit/vegetable basket business anyway.’ ‘He’s not a greengrocer.’

Earlier in the week, Meghan shared a snapshot of her ‘Father’s Day’ breakfast on As Ever’s stream, which included a piece of toast, a glass of orange juice and an orange.
She also shared a sweet photo of herself embracing Prince Harry’s children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, on her personal Instagram account ahead of the Sussex couple’s visit to the UK next month.
The caption read: ‘They are so lucky to have you. We all are. Happy Father’s Day to our only father.’
In the photo, Harry, 41, can be seen kneeling and smiling while embracing his two children.
Lilibet is wearing white shorts and a top with a giraffe GoldBug backpack, and Archie is wearing Zara’s England Fifa World Cup print t-shirt.
The photo was published just hours after the royal family wished Prince William a happy 44th birthday and Father’s Day.
Harry is reportedly preparing to take Meghan and her children on a rare visit to the UK next month.
The Duke of Sussex is expected to take his family to England for the first time in four years to attend the one-year countdown party to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Children, Queen Elizabeth II. Since their last outing in June 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, they have been with their grandfather, King Henry III. They did not see Charles in person.
Meghan has not made an extended visit to the UK since the late Queen’s funeral in September, apart from occasional stops in London on foreign tours.
Harry is said to be happy with security arrangements for the visit in mid-July and is now planning for seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet to travel from California.
The prince is thought to have only seen his father twice in two years and is still awaiting a decision on what security provision he and his family will be entitled to in Britain.
