The wealthy have been shielded from Britain’s big problem … until now

London: Fury was swept in the social media of England when they heard that the rich part of London plans to move hundreds of asylum seekers to a hotel in their neighborhoods five days ago. Within a few hours, activists were publishing videos from outside the hotel to call politicians to send foreigners.

The hotel in Canary Wharf, a tower of luxury apartments via the former Docklands, was soon surrounded by protesters and police – it turned it into the latest glare of the British wild argument about refugees and migration.

“Now I can confirm that Britannia International Hotel in Canary Wharf is delivered to be used by asylum seekers and refugees, Le Lee Nallowham, a resident of the Council Zone Tower Hamlets, which contains Canary Wharf in the east of London.

“Where is the consultation? Where is the protection for local families? Once again – there is no answer. Only privacy and silence.”

There was only one problem. Nallalangham claimed that people had been moved to Canary Wharf from an asylum -seeker hotel in the town of EPPING forest, the scene of the protesters’ shine to the police, the eggs and rocks of the protesters. This was inflamed because of anger on the hotel in EPPING just outside London. But that was not true.

Nallalingham did not catch details. The reform in the Tower Hamlets region was the president of the UK branch and spread the word for a purpose. Reform, led by the right -wing politician Nigel Farage, makes big gains by touching complaints on economy, gender policies, migration and refugees.

Therefore, anger for asylum hotels, anger for another powerful campaign for farage and reform, and once promised to close them, workers’ Prime Minister Sir Keir is becoming a disaster for Starmer. Farage is a simple collection scream for supporting support – Australian parallels when you use “Stop boats” – are inevitable.

Another reform British politician Lee Anderson stood outside the Canary Wharf Hotel to make a video about the close arrival of asylum seekers for the X social media site. Farage sent this back to 2.2 million followers. The message helped a street protest within hours.

So what really happened? Yes, the hotel was preparing to host asylum seekers. No, they didn’t come from the EPPING Forest. The British department accused of border security of the Ministry of Interior, protesters, while standing out, the Canary Wharf Hotel made clear that there were no asylum seekers. However, in the coming weeks, he confirmed that he has allocated more than 400 beds in the hotel to prepare for their arrival seeking more asylum.

And deeper truth? The UK is struggling with a weekly arrival on inflatable boats passing the British channel in the hope of gaining refugee status and finding a job in a rich country.

For example, last Sunday 60 people and 132 on Wednesday.. None of them on some days. In the first six months of this year, there were 19,982. A installment by Reuters It is based on general data. This was an increase of 50 percent from the same period last year.

Considering the conservatives governed from 2010 to 2024, Starmer blames the previous government for a problem for a good reason. However, Starmer has come to power for a full year. There is no sign that their policies slow down those who arrive.

The rich are mostly protected from this reality, especially in the thinner neighborhoods of London. However, those who were at the lower steps of the British class structure saw this closely when the asylum seekers were placed in their communities. Without the end of the arrival, more hotels are installed – and richer neighborhoods like Canary Wharf attract attention.

The community also depends on immigrants for basic services: Cleaning of the London Underground, Working of Supermarket, Delivery of Food, Package Service. Citizens now seem to trust migrants more than ever.

Inflammatory rhetoric displeasure. Laila Cunningham, a reform of the Westminster Municipal Assembly in the heart of London, draws the worker and Tories on Wednesday because he lost control of the border. “Tories has allowed 6.5 million people more than 14 years,” he said. As a result, he added: “Many of our values and non -specific young male waves who do not share our values and do not respect British women.”

Cunningham looked exaggerated. Oxford University Migration Observatory followed the annual purchase based on public data and its graph shows a net migration of approximately 5 million from June 2012 to June 2024. Nevertheless, the flow works in front of what the community wants.

The public class emphasizes anxiety. Migration observation Reported Results From 2023 onwards, 52 percent of British adults want to reduce migration, 14 percent want to increase. 22 percent of them wanted to remain the same, while the rest were undecided.

The concern is not new because objections to migration helped shape the referendum in favor of Brexit. What changes is a sense of urgency that some voters feel about challenge. In June 2016, when the voting public elected Brexit, 48 percent of the participants said that migration is an important issue. He fell in the public class for years, but now he’s back. Last October rose to 38 percent.

Starmer feels the pressure of finding a correction. “We will not give up anything to fight illegal migration,” Wednesday said on Wednesday. In fact, there is a shortage of ideas to deterd the arrivals. Australian asylum seekers sent to the remote islands and translated boats in the Indian Ocean. England did not copy the Australian approach at the narrow boundaries of the British channel, so it has to design its own solution.

Asylum hotels are part of a wider “disintegration” policy for asylum seekers to spread them throughout the country. At the end of last year, there were 38,000 asylum seekers in hotels, 65,000 people are in the “disintegration” housing like the hostels operated by private apartments or companies for the government. This is very different from the Australian policy, which attracts a lot of attention to Manus Island and Nauru. Experience in the UK is very local.

EPPING Forest Rebellions occurred after reacting to an event between a community asylum seeker and a local girl. 38 -year -old Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu from Ethiopia was accused of three points of sexual assault, one encouraged a girl to participate in sexual activity and was unvolded harassment. When he went to court on July 10, he rejected all crimes.

Another case led to a conviction five days ago. Moffat Konofilia, a 48 -year -old asylum seeker from the Solomon Islands, approached a 17 -year -old girl on the beach in Weymouth in Southern England in December 2023. A peace judge found him guilty of sexual assault.

When these cases are in headlines, the community reacts. And Farage can turn this reaction into a mushroom cloud.

Starmer and his ministers are trying to find new ways to slow them. They have an agreement with the French President Emmanuel Macron to return some people to France. They announced sanctions to those in asylum seekers. Individuals face financial sanctions and inflatable boats to human smugglers declares the Chinese company, the UK will be banned from doing business.

Last week’s uprisings put a public face on a tremendous coercion over England. Sometimes it reveals the anger that comes to authority, covered with a palaclava. The rebels do not speak for England because the data shows that many people show mercy to those who pass the channel. However, the public mood turned against the asylum seekers.

It is difficult for many communities and voters have a reason to feel victims. Each asylum seeking arrival can contribute to the feeling that the system is broken. Every crime can contribute to pressure. Even a tweet can start a rebellion.
