Kate Middleton climbs 3 mountains in 24 hours for cancer awareness

Kate Middleton has reached new heights in her fight to inspire cancer survivors.
The Princess of Wales was all smiles as she perched atop Ben Nevis in Scotland as part of the National Three Summits Challenge, which sees climbers summit the UK’s three highest mountains in 24 hours.
Middleton, 44, reflected on her own battle with cancer in a heartfelt message she shared with her followers about her decision to embark on a physically and mentally demanding quest.

“Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear words no one else wants to hear,” he said online. “What comes next is a path that tests every part of who we are: physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually.
“Challenges ripple outward, touching families, friendships, work and the quiet moments we spend alone with our thoughts. Cancer doesn’t just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel, and profoundly affects every aspect of life.”
“I know this personally and know that the journey through and after treatment requires more than just medication,” she added.
Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and announced the following year that she was in remission.

“I joined the National Three Peaks Challenge not just as a physical challenge, but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and give something back,” she wrote. “Through this challenge, I want to raise awareness about the deeper impacts of serious diseases and the importance of holistic healthcare.”

This challenge involves climbing 23 miles in 24 hours and a total elevation gain of 10,052 feet. ThreePeaksChallenge.uk.
“Every individual is different, and providing a holistic person approach to care enables those living with cancer to overcome the highly personal challenge of diagnosis,” Middleton said. he said.

He added: “We have an opportunity to reshape the future of holistic cancer care – ensuring more people across the country have access to the kind of personalized support that can help make a meaningful difference during and after medical treatment.”

The mother-of-three said the challenge supports the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which helps “improve the healing and recovery of patients across the UK”.
“Healing, whether personal or collective, is not just about righting what is wrong,” he wrote. “It’s about finding balance in how we live. Between effort and acceptance, between control and trust, between thinking and simply being.
