Six trucks explode into flames after crash on Hume Highway, Goulburn

Six trucks were engulfed in flames after a crash on a major highway in NSW’s Southern Tablelands.
Two trucks collided near a rest stop on the Hume Highway at Breadalbane, about 30 kilometers from Goulburn, on Tuesday morning.
The impact caused a fire and caused several more trucks to catch fire.
All 6 trucks became unusable in the fire.
Paramedics treated six truck drivers for minor injuries, two were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
While police teams were investigating the accident, a crime scene was established.

The Hume Highway has been closed in all directions and is expected to remain closed for several hours.
Diversions are in place via the Federal Highway and Canberra via the Barton Highway.
“Due to the complete burning of five trucks and the density of flammable materials inside the vehicles, a 300-meter exclusion zone was established around the incident,” the FRV spokesman said.
“Motorists are asked to avoid the area and follow the instructions of local emergency services.”
