Search after apartment block collapses in Athens

Greek rescue teams are searching for people trapped after the collapse of a four-storey apartment building in Athens.

The fire department said Tuesday that four people previously reported trapped had been found and were safe, but the operation in the Petralona area continued.

In the statement made by the service, it was stated that the crew with rescue dogs were searching the wreckage and other forces were on standby.

It has not yet been determined what caused the seven-flat building to collapse.

The fire department said construction work was continuing in the adjacent building.
