King Charles may be royalty, but that doesn’t stop his sense of humor from showing through from time to time. While the monarch is expected to be very professional, he sometimes shows his cheeky side at royal engagements.

An example of this is when the King met Devil Wears Prada star Vanessa Williams at the Royal Variety Show. Vanessa, who starred in the series Ugly Betty, performed a magic trick in the show watched by the monarch. However, Vanessa had a bit of a hard time during the ruse and the King cheekily brought it up during the meeting.

reminding me of that moment, Hollywood star said Hello! Magazine: “When I did the Royal Variety Show, I did a quick magic trick with Penn and Teller and I had to pick a padlock and I had a bit of a hard time getting it open, so he (the King) said: ‘You had a bit of a hard time picking that lock, but that was the only cheeky thing that was said.”

He later said that he is a fan of the King and the Royal Family and has been since a young age.

Chatting to the magazine at Wimbledon, he said: “I watched Diana’s wedding to King Charles – I was in high school at the time – we all got up at four in the morning to watch it live, so for me to follow in her footsteps, to shake the hands of the royal family, was a dream come true.”

“I was at Royal Ascot last week, it was incredible, I saw the King come.”

The royal also reportedly showed it off at home in front of his family and royal staff, and even pulled pranks on staff.
