Portugal vs Croatia at Toronto Stadium

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and Luka Modric’s Croatia aim to be in the last 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Round of 32 match played at Toronto Stadium on Friday.

Portugal will face Croatia in a match that could mark the final World Cup match of Ronaldo’s or his former Real Madrid teammate and experienced Croatian midfielder Luka Modric’s career.

Portugal have had an unconvincing start to their World Cup campaign. Portugal were forced into a tough draw after failing to beat the Democratic Republic of Congo and Colombia, and beat lower-seeded Uzbekistan for their only victory in the tournament’s group stage.

Croatia had a stumbling start to their World Cup campaign following a 4-2 defeat to England but made a comeback with wins over Panama and Ghana.

The winner of the Portugal-Croatia tie will face Spain in the last 16 rounds.
