Footage of Trump’s 30-minute speech shows attendees leaving mid-speech and the president left ‘furious’.

“I’m not really sure who thought this was a good idea.”

In addition to the lack of attendees, the State Fair was literally falling apart due to a large piece of the stage falling to the ground during a dance performance in front of dozens of people.

Videos shared online show the black stage descending as dancers moved out of the way and stopped their routines, with a seemingly empty audience in front of them.

On Wednesday, the president confirmed his determination to give “a really long speech” despite the hot weather.

Trump said: “It’s going to be about 107 degrees on the Fourth of July, and I’m going to go and give a really long speech to show that I can do anything.”

Security provided by the Secret Service and D.C. police also limits what attendees can bring, as food and water bottles are blocked from entering the area.

Water bottles sold at the fair were $5.

In an even bigger disappointment, high-profile acts have canceled ahead of the 250th anniversary celebrations, with soul band the Commodores and funk artist Morris Day pulling out in previous weeks.

These actions were not replaced by Trump ‘filling the gaps’.
