Prince Harry and Meghan: Will they or won’t they, and will we care?

From the Sussex perspective, a picture would be a sign of their legitimacy as part of the family. But you can also imagine Palace officials worried about how such a photo might be used. They don’t want to see this increase jam sales in Montecito.
“The politics around this photo are so complex that it’s almost certain to happen,” says David Yelland, former editor of The Sun and presenter of BBC Radio 4’s When It Hits the Fan.
“The photo we really want to see is with the grandchildren,” he says, but he thinks there will be a lot of debate about who is responsible for the photo and how it was set up.
“You start thinking about the negotiations between the two sides. Who’s standing where? Is Meghan in the photo? Where is the King? Will Camilla be in the photo?”
“It would be easier to photograph Putin and Trump together after a meeting than to photograph these people in the same room at the same time,” Yelland says.
Even without the photo, it seems likely that a meeting will take place if the children come to the UK; especially because King Charles wanted to see his grandchildren due to his own health problems.
Prince Harry will also want to reconnect with his maternal family and there is also speculation that he will stay at the Spencer estate in Althorp.
It also means the possibility of making a touching visit to Princess Diana’s grave and bringing their children to the island cemetery of the grandmother they never had the chance to meet.
