England fans celebrated until the early hours after the Three Lions defeated Mexico in their dramatic last-16 clash, with pubs and fan grounds across the country erupting at the final whistle.
Fans hugged, sang and sprayed beer into the air as England secured their place in the quarter-finals after overcoming a tough final with 10 men.
Many fans are likely to feel the effects this morning after staying up through the night to watch the crucial clash kick off in the early hours of Monday UK time.
Pubs, bars and fans’ parks in cities including London, Manchester, Bristol and Derby were packed with fans keen to watch Thomas Tuchel take on the tournament hosts.
When the final whistle blew, celebrations began across the country; Strangers hugged each other and sang English songs as the party continued into the night.
The loudest cheers came when Jude Bellingham struck twice in just 99 seconds to put England in control before the break.
However, the match took a dramatic turn after half-time when Jarell Quansah was shown a red card for a tackle on Jesus Gallardo and England played with 10 men for much of the second half.
Harry Kane converted the penalty to restore England’s two-goal lead and Raul Jimenez converted for Mexico to set up a tense finale.
England defended resolutely in the closing stages, throwing bodies in front of shots and went on to seal a memorable victory.
The celebrations continued with fans singing along, with many belting out the Oasis classic Wonderwall after the final whistle.
Despite the late finish, many fans continued celebrating until sunrise, vowing that England would stay awake for one of the biggest matches of the tournament.

Industry experts estimate that the postponement of kick-off led to around a million extra pints being sold as fans settled in for a long night of football, The Sun reports.
Some fans prepared by sleeping a few hours before the game, knowing that the unusual kickoff time would lead to a long night.
The result left fans jubilant after England qualified for the quarter-final against Norway.
Prince William was among those celebrating, and he issued a personal congratulatory message to the Three Lions shortly after the victory.
England fans at the Azteca Stadium also experienced unforgettable scenes despite the difficult weather conditions.
Storms, lightning and torrential rain lashed Mexico City before kick-off, causing an hour-long delay while officials monitored conditions.
After play eventually got underway, Bellingham’s quick shot stunned the home fans before Julian Quinones scored for Mexico before the break.

Quansah’s direct red card at the beginning of the second half made England’s job even more difficult.
Kane’s successful penalty looked to have put the game beyond Mexico before Jimenez knocked down the penalty spot.
Despite the increasing pressure, England remained determined to retain their place in the last eight.
The fixture had already attracted attention before kick-off after FIFA considered bringing the match forward due to severe weather forecasts before deciding to stick to the original schedule.
England’s preparations were also disrupted on the eve of the match when large groups of Mexican fans gathered in front of the hotel.
Fans carrying drums, megaphones and fireworks tried to keep the team awake throughout the night, while passing drivers honked their horns repeatedly.
The meeting broke up after armed police established a cordon around the hotel and removed fans from the building.
