Kimmel joins Obama-produced HBO show to mock Trump

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel guest-starred on Larry David’s Obama-produced HBO show on July 3 to attack President Donald Trump.
Rob Reiner, a longtime Trump critic who was murdered late last year, appeared posthumously as George Washington; George Washington announced that he would not seek a third term in office and proposed to Congress a constitutional amendment banning presidential power in “Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Happiness: The Almost History of America.” The new HBO satire series, which features former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as executive producers, satirized Trump without mentioning him by name.
David’s character, dressed in colonial garb, asked: “What if there’s a narcissistic snob in office who doesn’t abide by the Constitution?”

Reiner’s Washington emphasized the importance of a peaceful transfer of power before David’s character intervened, warning that the president could attack the free press to silence criticism. Then another man in the crowd, played by Trump’s longtime rival Kimmel, came into focus.
“Come on, this could never happen,” Kimmel’s character shouted.
David’s character said sarcastically: “You think so.”
“Are you saying the president would take the time to challenge anyone who dares to make fun of him as if he were a big baby? I just can’t see that,” Kimmel’s character said.
Kimmel, who joked earlier this year that First Lady Melania Trump had a “widow-in-waiting” glow, has stepped up his liberal political commentary in recent years.

The “widow” joke went viral a few days later when an armed attacker stormed a security checkpoint at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in April. Insisting that this was not an assassination attack but a joke about Trump’s age, Kimmel makes fun of Trump every night.
Trump has repeatedly called on ABC to fire Kimmel, but to no avail.
“When is the ABC Fake News Network firing the truly unfunny Jimmy Kimmel who is ineptly presiding over one of the Lowest Rated shows on Television? People are angry. It better happen soon!!!” Embers wrote In April.

Last year, Kimmel was briefly suspended by Disney after controversial remarks about the Charlie Kirk assassination sparked outrage, and ABC said the series would be off the air indefinitely. He returned to the air days later and insisted he never intended to make light of Kirk’s death.
