Huge blaze breaks out in building near Tube station as residents evacuated | UK | News

12 fire trucks and approximately 80 firefighters were dispatched to fight a fire in a building in North London.

The incident occurred near the Turnpike Lane subway station on Main Street.

“The fire is currently under control, but firefighters will remain on scene throughout the night to fully extinguish the fire,” LFB said in a statement. he said.

LFB received the first of 25 calls reporting the fire at 21.25 on Monday, July 6, and the fire was brought under control around midnight.

Crews from Hornsey, Tottenham, Southgate, Holloway and neighboring fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

15 residents were safely evacuated from the affected properties.

Two people affected by smoke were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.

Road closures remain in effect on High Road near the Turnpike Lane intersection.

LFB urged the public to avoid the area and anticipate some traffic disruption.
