Modi-Prabowo talks: Indonesia to import Indian Astra missiles, EVMs and expand BrahMos inventory

According to sources, in a major boost to India’s election management model, India will support the development of Indonesian Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). According to sources, Indonesia is also expanding its existing BrahMos inventory and India is preparing to supply additional missile batteries to Jakarta.

To strengthen the critical mineral supply chain, India will invest in the production of steel, nickel and rare earth permanent magnets in Indonesia, sources said, and this move is aimed at improving supply chain security for both countries.

Sources added that India and Indonesia are preparing to jointly develop the Sabang port, which overlooks the Straits of Malacca and is about 160 kilometers away from India’s Greater Nicobar port project.


The developments came as Prime Minister Modi received a ceremonial guard of honor in Jakarta on Tuesday in the presence of President Prabowo, who personally presided over the reception.
