Ali Abbas Zafar Celebrates 10 Years of Salman Khan Starrer ‘Sultan’

mumbai: Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar celebrates 10 years of sports drama ‘Sultan’ starring Salman Khan. Zafar shared a carousel of images on Instagram with glimpses of movie theaters. He also shared a photo of Salman Khan, who plays the character of Sultan Ali Khan. “10 years of Sultan @beingsalmankhan @anushkasharma @yrf and my Beautiful Team. Thank you, the love continues to grow,” the filmmaker wrote.
Fans quickly flocked to the comments section to share their reactions, with many expressing their love for the film. Actor Rajat Bedi commented, “What a beautiful film.” Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Sultan’ is the story of a wrestler, played by Salman, who decides to take up wrestling with the aim of impressing a female wrestler played by Anushka Sharma, and eventually becomes successful but loses his ladylove when things go bad. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film was released in 2016.
The film was not only successful at the box office but also spawned hits like ‘Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai’ and ‘Jag Ghoomeya’. On Salman Khan’s work front, the actor will be next seen in the war film ‘Maatrubhumi: May May War Rest’. Produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films, ‘Maatrubhumi: May the War Be Peaceful’ is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and also stars Chitrangada Singh in an important role. The film was earlier titled ‘Battle of Galwan’, later its name was changed to ‘Maatrubhumi: May the War Be Peaceful’. It is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between Indian and Chinese troops. The film, which was initially planned to be released in April this year, was later postponed. The makers are yet to announce a revised release date.
