Eatery in Hi Tech City Installs Live Kitchen Screen after Food Safety Inspection

Hyderabad: Following the latest food safety audit, Mehfil restaurant in Hi Tech City in Madhapur has installed live kitchen screens to give customers a view of food preparation activities.

As part of routine food safety inspections within its premises, the Cyberabad Food Corporation (CMC) food safety team inspected the restaurant on June 27, 2026 and found inadequate kitchen space, wet floors, food accumulation and unhygienic food sorting practices.

Food handlers were not issued medical fitness certificates. Roomali rotis were prepared at a construction site and were immediately stopped. The team initiated an improvement notice and asked staff to take corrective action. Within the scope of hygiene evaluation, it gave 68 points out of 102.

CMC encourages all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to continuously strengthen food safety and hygiene practices and take measures that increase transparency and consumer confidence, officials said.

In its food safety inspection report in June, CMC’s food safety teams inspected 39 eateries across Cyberabad and the hygiene scores of the restaurants ranged from 18 per cent to 94 per cent.

During the inspections, the teams mainly focused on hygiene standards, food handling, pest control, storage conditions, labeling and FSSAI compliance. CMC also advised food establishments to maintain hygiene standards and comply with food safety regulations, otherwise necessary action will be initiated in accordance with the law.

It was stated that regular inspections will continue throughout Siberabad. In the report, CMC said seven restaurants recorded hygiene scores ranging from 94 percent to 92 percent, while half a dozen restaurants recorded hygiene scores ranging from 86 percent to 82 percent.

Three restaurants recorded low scores ranging from 18 percent to 35 percent. Upon observing unhygienic conditions, the teams asked the staff to take corrective measures in the cafeterias. Remediation notices have also been recommended for many restaurants violating safety norms.
