4 Members of Deepak Nandal Gang Killed in Encounter, 1 Criminal, 3 Police Personnel Hurt

Gurugram: Four friends of notorious criminal Deepak Nandal were killed and one was injured in an encounter with Gurugram Police on Thursday, a senior police official said. He stated that 3 police officers were injured in the fire.

According to police, the encounter took place in Sushant Lok A Block late in the evening. Five members of the Deepak Nandal gang allegedly held Vishal Berry, son of the founder of SGT University in Gurugram, hostage at his home in Sushant Lok.

The Crime Branch had received information from the Police Control Room about the suspicious movements of the armed men in the Mahindra Scorpio car.

When Crime Branch teams reached Sushant Lok area, the criminals had allegedly just started firing with sophisticated weapons at the businessman’s house.

The businessman repeatedly receives ransom messages from a wanted gangster who is abroad.

The police surrounded the criminals and in the ensuing gun attack, four of the criminals were killed and one was injured. Additionally, 3 police officers were injured by bullets.

Stating that the injured were taken to hospital, the police added that high-level police teams arrived at the scene.

Gurugram Police spokesperson said that after receiving information about the incident, DCP-Crime and DCP-East reached the spot. Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) teams conducted scientific and technical examinations at the scene and collected the necessary evidence.

The police spokesperson added that detailed information about the identities of criminals, criminal records, seized weapons and other important information will be shared separately after verification and investigation.

The senior police officer said Berry and his family were rescued safely.
