Telangana Haj Committee to Refund ₹10,000 Airline Fuel Surcharge to 2026 Pilgrims
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Haj Committee on Friday announced that it will refund 10,000 to every Hajj-2026 pilgrim that they had to pay earlier this year due to increased airline fuel charges. The circular regarding the revised fee was issued after several pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia.
Syed Gulam Afzal Biyabani, chairman of the State Haj Committee, said that the Haj Committee of India has instructed the pilgrims to pay additional fees. Pilgrims who do not pay the additional amount are required to pay the amount directly to the Hajj Committee of India as per Circular No. 42.
However, as assured by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the state Haj Committee said it would refund the money directly to the individual bank accounts of the pilgrims.
