BMW does not support hybrids
“I don’t think so (hybrid vehicles need to grow). The reason is that you have to have an engine in the car and also the battery. Your cost definitely goes up a lot more and there is complexity in that. So unless the OEM sells it maybe at a loss and brings it at a competitive price, because with the powertrain in the car, it is not possible to keep those prices under control,” Hardeep Singh Brar, president of BMW India, told Mint in an interview.
