Toronto Festival Shooting: 2 killed, 4 injured as gunman opens fire at Canada’s street festival, manhunt underway

Authorities initially urged the public to stay away from the area while they intervened. Police later said the scene was secured but warned that the suspect or suspects had not been captured. A large police presence remains in the area near Toronto’s Salsa, a Latin-themed cultural celebration.
“I am devastated by the senseless violence at the St. Clair Festival Salsa that left two people dead and others injured,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said in a social media post. “My thoughts are with the victims, their families and everyone affected.
As the sun set on a warm summer evening, crowds filled the street and celebrated with music and dancing. The festival atmosphere was shattered when reports emerged that there was an active shooter and several people were injured.
