England ‘are like having world’s ugliest daughter who you say is beautiful’: Three Lions torn apart on American TV for ‘really poor’ World Cup – despite being two games from glory

England were roundly criticized on American television for their ‘really bad’ performance against Norway despite reaching the World Cup semi-finals on Saturday night.
Jude Bellingham proved to be the hero in Miami as Thomas Tuchel’s side earned a 2-1 win in extra time to book their place in the last four of the tournament.
Bellingham scored twice as the Three Lions came from behind to see Norway off, leveling the game just before half-time and emerging with a crucial winner three minutes into extra time.
But despite the victory, England were ripped apart by US pundit Mike Grella, who described them as the ‘ugliest girl in the world’ after claiming the win was unconvincing.
“The good news is you have two games left, the semi-finals and the final, and you can win a World Cup for the first time since 1966. The bad news is you’re not very good at football,” Grella told CBS Sports.
‘You’re not good with the ball, you’re not good at passing, you leave incredible spaces between the lines. It was a truly poor performance by British standards. The impressive part is how poor you are and can get away with winning.

England manager Tuchel, though not as harshly, also criticized his side’s performance against Norway despite reaching the World Cup semi-finals.
‘We made life very difficult for ourselves today. The result is magnificent. “But I’m not happy with his performance,” he said after the game.
‘In every sense. Again, the commitment is obvious, but we made life very difficult for us with the way we played.
‘Sloppy, lots of technical errors, not fast enough, not repetitive enough. ‘We were lucky today.’
However, Tuchel was praised for his team’s spirit on the night and the way they got the job done in a tough game.
‘No one is suggesting that I am not impressed by the change, the effort, the spirit and the belief they have put forth,’ he said.

Thomas Tuchel criticized his team’s performance on Saturday despite winning
‘Overcoming challenges, digging in and finding ways to win is absolutely at the highest level. They can’t get enough credit for this. But I’m also a football coach and I think we can play better.’ ‘
“There is no doubt that I am proud, I am happy and I feel very committed to this team because they are doing whatever it takes,” Tuchel added.
‘They just refuse to lose. They overcome obstacles and troubles. But I also have demands. We want to bring out the best in us. In my mind I’m not completely satisfied and I stand by that. I think we can play faster, play more clinically.
‘We had too many unforced errors and technical errors. We had some big moments where we got lucky, so yeah; There are so many things that could be done better and that’s okay.’
