‘Suspicious’ car found in Paris suburb near synagogue

About 300 people were told to leave a neighborhood in Sarcelles, a multicultural Paris suburb with a large Jewish population, because of a “suspicious” car near the town’s synagogue, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said.

Speaking to French broadcaster BFM, Nunez said that the incident occurred on Saturday evening.

Nunez said that the investigation is continuing, that a “military weapon” was found in the vehicle, and that the cause and the suspect have not been identified.
