Although he has roots like his father, albeit from the right side, Luke was the Conference USA Hitter of the Week (Week of May 11) for the season, hitting .341 with 16 homers and 48 RBIs in 186 games.

Luke was effective on the mound with a 3.19 ERA and struck out 56 batters across 48 total innings of work during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

The 21-year-old couldn’t pitch in 2026 due to Tommy John surgery, but he was able to hit a shot.

If Luke signs with the Yankees, it will be interesting to see how they want to utilize him, even though he is highly praised for his accuracy with his pitching.

A three-time All-Star, five-time World Series champion and ALCS MVP, Andy was a 22nd round pick in 1990 out of Deer Park High School in Texas. Although he spent three years with the Houston Astros from 2004-06,

Andy spent 15 of his 18 MLB seasons in the pinstripes and became one of the best left-handed starters in the game.

He had a career 3.85 ERA with 2,448 strikeouts, most of which coming with a nasty, 12-6 curveball that became a patented pitch.
