Iran publishes ‘revenge list’ with top 13 targets – including Starmer and Macron | World | News

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s name was included in the Iranian “kill list” published by a newspaper in Tehran.
Conservative newspaper Hamshahri published a list of world leaders it claimed were responsible for the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28. The late Ayatollah’s son and successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, has vowed to avenge his father’s death, and the newspaper has now published a list of his targets.
The list includes leading political figures from the USA and Europe, including the British Prime Minister. Sir Keir appears in an ominous infographic shared online by the notoriously provocative newspaper, along with a statement from Mojtaba swearing revenge.
The chart features 13 world leaders, each with a plus sign placed in the middle of their forehead.
Among the names on the list Donald TrumpBenjamin Netanyahu, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Sir Keir Starmer.
In his first statement since his father’s funeral on Saturday, Mojtaba said, “Revenge is the will of our nation and must inevitably be fulfilled. These criminals, whose names are on the list, will carry their desire to die peacefully in their beds to their graves.”

The newly appointed Supreme Leader also said that the Islamic Republic had already prepared a list of people to be targeted, but had not publicly named anyone.
There is no suggestion or confirmation that the list of 13 names published by Hamshahri was approved by the Iranian administration.
But despite the lack of official confirmation, some US journalists have reported allegations that Iran is plotting to assassinate President Donald Trump.
According to The Times, Israel shared intelligence with the United States alleging an active plot to kill Trump. CNN also reported that a “persistent intelligence voice” was heard suggesting a threat to the US President, claiming that the warning from Jerusalem was “related to a new and specific conspiracy.”
Reported fears of assassination may explain Trump’s last-minute change of planes as he left last week’s NATO summit in Türkiye.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One after leaving the conference in Ankara, Trump said: “They want to eliminate the leader of the United States, that is, me. No matter which list I am on. I saw this morning that I am on every one of their lists.”

The reported threat to Trump comes at a time when the conflict between the United States and Iran has flared up once again and new questions have arisen about the possibility of a lasting peace between the two countries.
US forces struck approximately 140 targets on Sunday, July 12, in response to attacks on commercial ships in the region.
Iran claimed the ships “ignored warnings” to use an approved route through the Strait of Hormuz and said that route would remain closed until “US intervention in this region ends.”
The strategic waterway carries about one-fifth of the world’s peacetime shipments of oil and liquefied natural gas. Previous closures sent shockwaves through global markets, causing fuel and energy prices to rise around the world.
