Vijay Launches ‘Nalam TN’ Health Portal

Chennai: Chief Minister Vijay, who launched ‘Nalam TN’, a digital portal that will strengthen the State’s healthcare system by providing access to state government healthcare services, handed over financial assistance to government medical colleges under his social responsibility initiative.

Speaking about the program at the Presidency College premises on Tuesday, Health Minister KG Arunraj termed it a turning point for the state’s healthcare sector and asked the newly appointed doctors and medical inspectors to provide compassionate care to patients.

He said that a real leader is not the one who sits in the chair and gives orders, but the one who has a place in the hearts of the people and acts by understanding their pain, and this happened under the leadership of Vijay, who acted with humanity, love and compassion.

Saying that Tamil Nadu is a kingdom of love, he added that medicine is not a science that only serves humanity. By speaking kindly to patients, doctors and healthcare professionals can give them hope for a recovery that will cure half of their illness.

He said doctors and health inspectors appointed to maintain the trust of poor and common people coming to government hospitals should offer treatment combined with love and compassion.

He said Nalam TN is a non-profit organization formed for the development of government hospitals and through this organization businessmen, businessmen and public can directly donate to the government hospital of their choice with complete transparency.

In the event, which started with the singing of Tamil Thai Vazhthu and ended with the singing of Vande Mataram twice and the national anthem, eliminating the recent controversies in the state and moving away from recent practices, representatives of various organizations provided financial aid to state medical colleges under the Social Responsibility Fund initiative.

The Prime Minister also unveiled the portal’s logo at an event held at the Presidency College auditorium in Chennai. According to the government, the platform was developed with the aim of providing transparent public contributions through the social responsibility fund, as well as improving the infrastructure and services of public hospitals.

During the event, representatives of various organizations provided financial aid to state medical colleges under the Social Responsibility Fund initiative.

Vijay also dedicated new medical buildings and modern healthcare equipment worth ₹ 139.47 crore to the people. He gave appointment instructions to 2,144 health personnel, including 751 doctors and 1,393 health inspectors, selected through the Health Services Procurement Board.

The Chief Minister personally presented the appointment order to Prashanthi, who was selected in the differently-abled category, and congratulated her during the event.
