But Grande changed the line during a recent Brooklyn concert: ‘I wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.’
“I wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he still got my back,” Grande crooned at an earlier show in Texas on June 26.
The former couple met in 2015 while working as backup dancers on the Honeymoon tour.
He confirmed their relationship the following year, but reports emerged a few months later that the couple had split after dating for about a year.

This comes after Grande and ex-boyfriend Ethan Slater said they had called it quits on their relationship after three years together.
A source told the Daily Mail last month that the pair decided to go their separate ways after a significant amount of consideration and lengthy negotiations.
Grande appeared to confirm the reconciliation news by performing her hit single ‘Thank U, Next’ during her Eternal Sunshine tour.
The source described the split, which took place earlier this year, as amicable and emphasized that the singer and her Wicked co-star are still friends.
It was said that Grande was in good condition after the separation.
Daily Mail’s source shared that the hitmaker is focusing his energy on his ongoing Eternal Sunshine tour, which kicks off on June 6 in Oakland, California, and wraps up in London on September 1.
Notably, Slater was not seen at the weekend’s opening performances.
Grande is also dedicating herself to the recording of her studio album Petal, which will be released on July 31.
The duo’s romance began after they met while filming the blockbuster musical adaptation of Wicked, which is released in 2024, and will be followed by its second half, Wicked: For Good, in 2025.
This comes after Grande and her ex-boyfriend Ethan Slater called it quits after three years of dating.
Grande was one of the film’s two leads, playing Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo played the green-skinned outcast Elphaba.
Slater played the role of Boq, a little boy who falls in love with Galinda, who later transforms into the Tin Woodman.
Their romance was first reported in July 2023, just days after news broke of Grande’s acrimonious split from husband Dalton Gomez, but they were rumored to have split in January of that year.
Slater also recently separated from his wife, clinical psychologist Lilly Jay, with whom he had a son in August 2022.
At the time, sources claimed that Grande and Slater did not start dating until after they separated from their spouses.
