BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Hunger Strike After House Arrest

Karimnagar: BRS Balkonda MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy went on a hunger strike at his home in Velpur mandal after being placed under house arrest by the police on Wednesday.
The legislator had planned a day-long protest in Bheemgal, demanding completion of pending works, including a 100-bed hospital, an integrated market and reopening of the closed TGSRTC bus depot.
Police prevented him from going to the protest site and placed him under house arrest earlier in the day. He continued his hunger strike at home. Supporters from the constituency and BRS workers gathered at his house after learning about the development. There was slight tension after the police restricted the entrances.
Prashanth Reddy continued his hunger strike with his supporters until the evening.
