Cheating Case Booked Against Man for Taking Rs.2.7 Crore, Abandoning Elderly Mother

Hyderabad: Shankarpally police registered a cheating case against a man who took Rs.2.70 crore from his elderly mother in Gajulagudem village of Shankarpally mandal and later forced her to leave the house.

According to police, Sushilamma inherited 22 acres of agricultural land from her ancestors along with her late husband Devi Reddy. After selling some of the land for his family’s needs, he distributed around 6.5 acres to his two sons and later sold the remaining two acres for Rs.2.70 crore. Trusting his younger son Narasimha Reddy, he handed over the entire amount to him.

Speaking to the media, Sushilamma claimed that she sought financial help from her son for medical expenses when he fell ill. However, he claimed that she refused to return the money and evicted him from the house. He also claimed that he lived on the terrace of the same house for about a month, exposed to sun and rain and surviving on bread crumbs.

The old woman recently approached Rangareddy district collector C. Narayana Reddy and narrated her ordeal. Impressed by his situation, the collector instructed the authorities to take action. As per the instructions, Shankarpally police registered a case of cheating against Narasimha Reddy and initiated an investigation.
