Train collides with school van in West Bengal’s Murshidabad, at least three dead

At least three people, including children, died when a train collided with a school minibus in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district on Friday, July 17. Hundreds of people gathered at the railway crossing where the accident occurred to save those who lost their lives in the accident and those who survived.

According to preliminary information, it was stated that two of the three people killed were minors. It was stated that the accident occurred around 07:00 in the morning.

The surviving injured were taken to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. It was learned that some of the injured were in critical condition and their treatment was ongoing.

Authorities have not yet made an official statement. A team of 10 people from the railways reached the scene.

The accident took place at the railway level crossing near Karna Subarna Railway Station in Murshidabad. It was reported that the minibus was hit by a train while trying to pass through the level crossing.

However, so far there has been no official statement from the railway or the administration.
