Prince Harry makes appearance in New York to accept another award | Royal | News

Prince Harry took the stage alone at the TIME100 Sports Gala in New York City on Thursday. The 41-year-old’s latest appearance came just days after he returned from England, with his visit mainly focused on the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games.

It is known that the Duke of Sussex visited the King and Queen at Highgrove House with his wife and two children last Friday. Seen posing on the red carpet as he arrived at yesterday’s event, Harry was quietly named one of the TIME100 2026 Most Influential People in Sports in the “Leaders” category.

The royal family was also heard telling the waiting media that they were “the nicest bunch of photographers I’ve ever met in my life”.

Ahead of Thursday’s event, TIME honored Harry for his work on the Invictus Games.

Speaking of games, Harry told TIME that he was inspired to create games on an international scale.

He said: “I thought: ‘Wow, look at the power of sport, how it’s literally changing lives before my eyes.’

“For me it was very clear. Let’s invite as many countries as possible to internationalize this. Because clearly more countries need to benefit from this.”

Despite meeting the King and Queen last week, Prince William and Princess Catherine are reportedly “completely over” the drama surrounding Sussex.

Royal expert Robert Jobson said in the latest episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive: “To be honest, William and Catherine have crossed that line. I think they’re right. They’ve got enough on their plate. You know, he’s recovering and they’re planning for their future.”

“Their children do their own thing. You know, their eldest son, George, goes to Eton [College]. “I think Meghan and Harry have completely finished their circus.”
