Terence Donovan dies aged 90: Neighbours and Home and Away star’s death announced by son Jason

Famous British-Australian actor Terence Donovan passed away at the age of 90.
He was best known for his role as Doug Willis on over 550 episodes of Neighbours.
The news was shared on social media by his son Jason.
“It is with great sadness that I and my brother Paul announce that our father Terence passed away peacefully in Melbourne last night, but also as a celebration of a long and full life,” he wrote.
“Obviously, this is an extremely emotional time and we ask that you respect our privacy.
“We want to pay tribute to all the wonderful staff at Cabrini Hospital Melbourne who cared for him in his final days.
“Our father was a huge character, larger than life.
“He was our best friend… our world!
“We will miss him greatly, but we take comfort in knowing that we are all with him in his final days.
“Knowing that you are living life to the fullest.
“Knowing that life is either a daring adventure or nothing!
“How lucky we are to have a father like you.”
The announcement was signed by both Jason and Paul on their Instagram stories, followed by a photo of the three of them and just Jason and Terence.
Three weeks ago, Jason shared an old photo of himself from his childhood sitting on his father’s lap to celebrate Father’s Day.
The caption reads, “Any person can be a father. It takes a special person to be a father. The hero, my father!” he wrote.
As well as his role in Ramsay Street, Terence Donovan has also appeared in Home and Away, Division 4, Cop Shop and Blue Heelers.
He starred in the films Death of a Soldier and The Man from Snowy River.
More to come…
