Rapp, 26, dies after being hit by car while cycling
American boxer Hannah Rapp died after being hit by a car while cycling in Texas on Saturday.
A car passing Rapp, 26, stopped suddenly and then reversed toward him, according to the Brazos County sheriff’s office.

The driver was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Rapp challenged for the WBC women’s featherweight title in June, losing to Tiara Brown in Orlando, which left her with an 8-1-1 record.
WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said in a statement: “He was an outstanding boxer, but above all, he was an invaluable member of our boxing family.”
Brown called Rapp “the best dance partner I’ve ever faced professionally” and said Rapp asked for his autograph before the fight.
“It filled my heart because we were getting ready for war and he still wanted my autograph,” Brown said. “We had a great fight. It was an honor to share the ring with him.”

Rapp, from Indiana, competed in track and field before switching to boxing. He turned pro in 2024 while maintaining his full-time job as a fire and life safety inspector.
Her promoter, Most Valuable Promotions, said in a statement: “Hannah left a lasting impression on everyone who had the opportunity to meet her.
“He was a talented athlete, a valued member of the boxing community and deeply respected by those around him.
“We are grateful to have shared a part of his journey and will honor his memory in the coming weeks.”
