Nancy Pelosi refuses to comment on Paul Pelosi hit-and-run charge

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., remained silent when pressed repeatedly about her husband’s newly filed misdemeanor hit-and-run charge, refusing to answer whether she believed the charge was fair.

“Can you tell us whether the misdemeanor charge against Paul is fair?” Fox News Digital asked Pelosi, refusing to answer as she walked toward her car.

Paul Pelosi faces a maximum sentence of up to six months in the county jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. In addition to the misdemeanor filed Friday, Pelosi was also accused of taking an unsafe turn at the July 3 incident.

The charge, filed by the Napa County District Attorney’s Office, comes after the 86-year-old man violated California law by allegedly making no attempt to contact the owner of a parked Tesla or identify the owner of the vehicle he damaged.

While Pelosi was driving away in her Maserati convertible, her car broke down after driving about half a mile. Deputies found Pelosi, and Pelosi claimed she knew she hit something but wasn’t sure what she hit and planned to return to the scene of the accident.

The incident led officials to request that Pelosi undergo a behind-the-wheel driving evaluation to ensure she can safely operate a vehicle.

This isn’t the first time Pelosi has drawn national attention for an illegal driving incident. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and hitting an oncoming Jeep, injuring the driver, and was charged with a misdemeanor.

The New York Times also reported that Pelosi was behind the wheel in the shooting that killed her 19-year-old brother in 1957, but was cleared by a jury of any wrongdoing in the case.

Fox News Digital also told the former Democratic spokesman, R-Ky. He asked about his recent vote — along with more than 100 House Democrats — on an amendment introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie to cut $3.3 billion in aid to Israel.

The amendment failed 314-104, with Massie the only Republican to vote in favor, but it showed pressure on the Democratic Party to take a stance against Israel and its handling of the war in Gaza.

It also represents a changing view of Democrats’ attitude toward Israel, especially under the Trump administration and with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu under fire for his actions toward Gaza.

The primaries also reflect American voters’ anger toward Israel; as the country has seen progressive candidates speaking out against Israel and in favor of the Palestinians triumph over incumbents and mainstream Democrats as selected candidates for the November midterm elections.
