ATO data shows the jobs that thrived and withered post-COVID

In this time of high inflation, we hear a lot about people not moving forward: people walking on water, going backwards. But the anecdotes are frustratingly singular; What we need is data.

But data can be collected in a frustrating way. Yes, GDP per capita is falling, but national averages are cold and meaningless things. Even the statistics on people’s occupations are pretty bleak; The Australian Occupational Standards Classification lists large, opaque groups such as “professionals” and “managers”; This is a reactionary’s dream.
