Seattle police chief loses his cool when asked why it took him to long to get back to city after mass shooting that killed three, as boy aged FIFTEEN is arrested

Seattle’s police chief lashed out at a reporter who was pressed about why he wasn’t in town during Sunday night’s horrific mass shooting.

Gunfire at a food festival near Seattle’s Space Needle left three people dead before police arrested a 15-year-old suspect.

The heated confrontation came after Police Chief Shon Barnes and Mayor Katie Wilson wrapped up a press conference Monday morning informing the public about the attack.

Barnes lost his cool after South Seattle Emerald reporter Connor Nash questioned why he wasn’t at the city’s first Sunday evening news conference.

In a video published on X by independent reporter Jonathan Choe, the pair confronted each other, with Barnes responding: ‘Let me tell you something. I don’t need to tell you where I’m going. ‘I had a medical procedure on Friday.’

‘I have been working as much as I can for this city since the day I came here. Do you understand?’ Barnes was whipped.

Nash then replied: ‘But there are reports that you don’t come into town often,’ and the chief said: ‘The reports are wrong, understand?’

As the reporter tried to follow up, a staff member intervened and repeatedly urged Barnes, “Let’s go,” as he led the chief away.

Police announced that at least three suspects were involved in the conflict, one of whom was among those killed in the violence.

In a document filed in juvenile court in Seattle, where a 15-year-old boy arrested in the case failed to show up for his first scheduled hearing Monday, police said they believed there were at least three shooters rather than two: the 15-year-old; an acquaintance who died at the scene; and ‘at least one other unknown suspect’.

“Based on evidence at the scene, investigators believe the 15-year-old and one of the deceased were engaged in a gunfight with at least one other unknown suspect,” the document said.

The teen is being held in juvenile detention pending investigation of firearms violations and first-degree assault ahead of his scheduled court appearance, Mayor Katie Wilson said at a news conference.

It was not immediately clear why the teen did not appear in court.

At 18:00 on Sunday, gunfire opened in the final hours of Seattle Bite, killing three people and wounding at least four others.

Two people died at the scene and the third person died in the hospital. It was stated that the people in question were two men, aged 19 and 44, and a woman, aged 56.

Among the four injured was a two-year-old boy who was in satisfactory condition Monday.

The others – two men, aged 23 and 27, and a 39-year-old woman – were discharged, a hospital spokesman said.

The court document stated that one of the victims was walking his bike when he was struck. The little boy was with his mother.

The annual three-day festival draws hundreds of food and retailers and artists to Seattle Center, a vast park and event space in the shadow of the Space Needle.

Many participants ran to campus buildings or fled the park when they heard the gunshots.
