Kurilla warfare: Meet the general leading US military forces in the Middle East amid Iran conflict

Ordu Gen. Michael “plum” Kurilla, especially in the Middle East is not alien to conflict.
Twenty years ago, as a lieutenant colonel, the 1st Battalion led the 24th Infantry Regiment, while Mosul took part in the forefront of the war fighting the rebels in Iraq. The mission of the battalion was to make security patrols against anti -Iraqi rebels targeting Iraqi security forces and Iraqi police stations and coordinating attack attacks.
The New York Times won the purple heart for more than 150 soldiers wounded during the term of office of Kurilla’s battalion, and the battalion lost at least a dozen soldiers.
“He’ll always take a AK-47 and shoot the Americans,” he told the New York Times in August 2005.
Trump Striking Iranian Nuclear Facilities: ‘I can, I can not do’
Kurilla was not completed without damaging this distribution. Later, in August 2005, Kurilla caught himself in a Mosul, Iraq, the fire department, where he continued more than one firearm, he won a bronze star with courage and two purple heart prizes.
Now, Kurilla faces another war as the US Central Command or Centcom, who served as a senior military officer who controls US military forces in the Middle East.
This means that Kurilla, who participated in the US Military Academy in West Point, is at the forefront of military operations because President Donald Trump would enter military strikes against Iran’s nuclear areas.
Centcom is one of the 11 war commands of the US military and covers 21 countries in the Middle East, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
Those who are familiar with Kurilla claim that he is the perfect person for work. Retired Ordu Gen. Mark Milley, joint Chief of General Staff Mark Milley nominated Kurilla in 2022 as an ideal leader for Centcom for Biden for the role.
“If there was a way to enter a machine, Centcom’s requirements for the perfect leader – character features, features, experiences, knowledge and ideal personality will be the personality of Centcom – this machine will spit Erik Kurilla.” He said. “Erik has a wide experience of war (and) on personnel.
“He’s a visionary, he’s a thinker, and he’s a constructor, Mil Milley said. He continued: “He understands both physical and human land and can identify and develop the main causes of problems. He is not a linear thinker at all. In fact, a very talented problem solvent.”
Trump says ‘something will happen very soon’ while forcing the nuclear agreement with Iran to negotiate
Retired Marine Infantry Gen. Frank McKenzie expressed similar feelings of Kurilla’s Centcom predecessor.
According to Pentagon, McKenzie said, McKenzie, in 2022, “I can’t think of anyone more qualified to lead the next part of Centcom.” He said. “He is not stranger to Centcom (operation area). He’s not a stranger to the center.”
Among the important figures that have filled Centcom before the job, former defense secretaries, retired Gen, who served in the first period of Trump. Jim Mattis and former president Joe Biden’s retired gene who served during the administration. Lloyd Austin is located.
Fox News Digital reached Centcom, the Ministry of Defense, McKenzie and Milley for a comment and could not get response during the broadcast.
The region is a familiar region for Kurilla. The General had spent ten years by controlling the traditional and special operational forces entering Centcom Purview during consecutive tours in the Middle East between 2004-2014.
Trump restore the ‘maximum pressure’ campaign against Iran
In addition, Kurilla served in key Centcom personnel and leadership positions, including the commander’s serving as the Chief of General Staff from August 2018 to September 2019. The General also commanded the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, 82. Havili section and XVIII HAVEDAN Choir.
In addition to being deployed to Iraq as part of the Iraqi operation, it was deployed to Afghanistan with a permanent freedom operation as part of decision -making by nature. Other awards include war infantry badge given to Special Forces Officers who faced the Army Infantry or Active Floor War.
Kurilla, who confirmed that the Senate was leading Centcom in February 2022 and will be released later in 2025, said that the MPs at the 10 June Parliamentary Armed Services Committee, Hamas, when Hamas first attacked Israel, said that American service members have encountered increasing threats in the region.
In particular, US troops said that approximately 400 unmanned air systems initiated by Iran -backed groups, 350 rockets, 50 ballistic missiles and 30 navigation missiles, he said.
Centcom said that he “faced a higher kinetic period than other times in the last decade.”
“We were on the verge of regional war with the first state-state attacks in the history of Iran and Israel with the first state-state attacks.” He said. “Houthi in the Red Sea tries to kill Americans operating in the Red Sea, and it required an aggressive response to protect our sailors and sailors and regain their freedom of navigation. This threatens to progress towards a nuclear weapon program of Tehran – threatening the disaster in the region and beyond.”
As a result, Kurilla said Centcom is ready to use military force to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear armed state. Kurilla said Trump and Defense Minister Pete Heget offered a number of options to eliminate a nuclear Iranian threat.
Since Kurilla’s testimony, the tensions in the Middle East have increased after launching major air strikes against Iran’s nuclear areas, where Israel has killed several high -level military leaders. Likewise, Iran increased two military campaigns against each other and launched strikes against Israel.
Trump still shows whether the US will strike direct strikes against Iran. Trump said to journalists that he could order strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear areas, and he said, “It will be great next week.”
“Yes, I can. I don’t. Nobody knows what to do, Tr Trump said. “I can say that, Iran has a lot of problems and they want to negotiate.”
