On Wednesday, India, the United States President Donald Trump’s 25% tariff announcement, both nations will take all the necessary steps to secure a fair trade agreement and new Delhi’s national interests.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the US president noted a statement on bilateral trade and examined India’s results.

“India and the United States have negotiated to conclude a fair, balanced and mutual bilateral trade agreement in the last few months. We are adhering to this goal. The government adds great importance to protect and promote the welfare of our farmers, entrepreneurs and MSMes.” He said.

The Ministry also, the government will take all the necessary steps to secure India’s national interests, ‘Britain with the latest comprehensive economic and trade agreement, including other trade agreements,’ he said.

India’s reaction came after US President Trump announced that he brought a 25% tariff to trade with the new Delhi. “Even though we have been our friend of India, we have done relatively less work with them for years because their tariffs are very high among the highest world and have the most exhausting and disgusting trade barriers of any country.”

Trump is reported to be unhappy about imports of energy and defense equipment from Russia. Over the past few months, India and the United States negotiate for a temporary trade agreement, but there were some reservations by India about the demand for the US to open the agricultural and milk sectors for the US. Agriculture and dairy products are critical for India, because they offer livelihood opportunities for most of the people of these two sectors. It is reported that India is faced with US demands such as allowing reproduced goods, opening agricultural and dairy products, accepting genetically modified (GM) feeding, and adopting the rules on digital trade and product standards.
