Recently, Rohit continues to join the ODI jack after he directed India to victory in the Champions Cup. After securing the T20 World Cup championship, he declared his retirement from T20 International.
In the midst of the permanent whisper of a potential crack between Rohit Sharma and BCCI, Jaydev Shah, an former Indian team manager, broke the silence and offers a sincere perspective to the longest format decision of the star dough. During the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Cup in Australia, Shah, who was the ruler, claimed that Rohit was forced to retire by the board of directors.
Speaking on a podcast, Shah said that Rohit’s decision was directed by a combination of a combination of desire to lead to younger talents while looking at the form, family life and India’s new ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
“He had a baby, he came back and couldn’t run, Shah said Shah, remembering Rohit’s struggle with the bat at that time. “Okay, it was out of the form. He fell from the last test (in Sydney), but then the champions won the cup.
Shah stressed that BCCI wanted to build a team for the upcoming WTC cycle and made it a “common understanding”. Also, Rohit’s physical challenges, “Rohit did not seem to last two years. He also had an injury, so he did not play a few IPL matches.”
