Customers with travel tickets on Monday can use them to travel at services today, Monday morning or Tuesday.

Scotrail said: “Storm Floris is expected to break the wind speeds recorded in many areas for August, which makes it an extremely busy storm for the time of the year.

“After the storm, the network railway engineers will have to examine closed lines for any damage, passengers are advised to start on the affected routes on Tuesday.”

According to Scotrail, a helicopter from Network Rail from Scotland will help the teams on the ground to help exactly basic controls throughout the network.
