Fish causes small brush fire and power outage in British Columbia

Firefighters in British Columbia determined that a fish falling by a Osprey caused a power outage and a small brush fire.
Ashcroft Fire Rescue, 05.08.25 Tuesday in a long Facebook post, fish residence 3 km east of the water body hit a power line, he said.
Later, a brush fire exploded from British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority, an employee with Dawson Road care, 1-6 km south of Ashcroft, as well as maids, as well as maids, as well as servants, as well as maids, and Ashcroft Ranchers answered just before the afternoon.
Authorities described Osprey and said that he was “did not continue the injury in the incident.”
Ashcroft Fire Rescue by Facebook post read: “Do you wonder why the power is out in Ashcroft today? There is something like fish about this call and we definitely suspect the poultry game!
“Shortly ago, Ashcroft Fire was sent to a landscape fire that burned 6 km south of the city.
“Fire was located on the east side of the highway 1. When the crew came to the scene, Dawson Road Maintenance, BC Hydro employees and Ashcroft Ranch hands were actively fighting against the fire.
“As the heavy fire was destroyed, Ashcroft Fire was able to cool the environment and burned area with engine 3 and tender 4.
“Ashcroft Ranch’s tender was also at the scene.
“When all units are combined, roughly 4800 gallon water was roughly put into an area of 60×90 meters. It is safe to say that this area is significantly cooled.
“A quick investigation revealed the cause of this fire.
“It was determined that there was a fish, yes, you read it correctly, thinking that it was 3 km from the origin point of the river.
“The fish had fallen into a hydro line by a local Oscrey, which caused the embers to fall into the following dry grass with the fish.
“We suspect the size of the fish, and the temperature of the day probably caused the very tired bird to catch.
“Or another suspicion may be tired of raw fish and wants to try to cook.
He continued: “We may never know the answer, but confirmed that our main suspect was not injured in the incident and still flying to a great extent. (SIC)”
