Entries open for 2025 Canning Arts Award

He was invited to Canning City’s 2025 Canning Art Awards.

Artists of 12 years and older are invited to present works in various traditional and contemporary categories.

The awards have been going on since 2020 and this year has two new categories: painting on canvas and painting on paper.

Other categories are drawing, 3D sculpture/textile, mixed media, photography and digital art.

More than $ 13,500 includes a prize pool, the winners of the seven adult category winners 1000 dollars, the winners of the seven young artist category $ 500, and the Canning City of Canning City Award, the People’s Election Award, and Avorijin and Torres Strait Islander Award for 1000 dollars for the artist.

President Patrick Hall said that the awards are an important attempt to support and celebrate local artists with all past and experience levels.

Hall, “Every year, artists brought to the Canning Art Awards for the quality, creativity and brave storytelling we are inspired,” he said.

“This event gives local and developing artists, especially young people, to present their work in a professional gallery environment, to expose to the public and to take potentially recognition and reward money.”

All entrances will be exhibited at the Riverton Library and the Canning Arts Award Award Award on September 26 will be a professional curator at the Opening Night.

The exhibition will be open to publicly open to the public at the opening hours of the library between 27 September – 4 October.

Adult category can be purchased throughout the exhibition and offers guests the chance to support local artists and take them home in a unique piece.

Visitors can vote for the choice of the people who will be announced at the end of the exhibition.
