Marles insists Australia ‘not supplying weapons to Israel’ but critics argue ‘parts of weapons are weapons’ | Australian politics

Defense Minister Richard Marles insists that no weapons were sent from Australia to help kill in Gaza.

Acting Prime Minister Marles said on Sunday that Australia did not export any weapons to be used by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), a claim rejected by human rights campaigns and greenery.

“Let’s be open: We do not supply weapons to Israel, Mar Marles said to ABC TV.

“We have seen a lot of wrong information about what Australia has done here. The main point is not supplying weapons to Israel, and there is no step that will have any effect on this, equivalent to Germany.”

Comments are following Germany’s decision to stop exports of military equipment that can be used in Gaza last week. Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced the decision on Friday, in response to Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israeli’s plans to expand Gaza operations, which condemns by the international community.

Parts were asked for the F-35 fighter aircraft where Australia exported armored steel to Australia and used in operations in Gaza, which was previously accepted.

“We are a country of F-35 and we have done this for a few decades. This is a very line arrangement with supply chains organized by Lockheed Martin in the United States and has more than one supplier on all these supply chains.”

David Shoebridge, the spokesman of the Foreign Affairs of the Greens, labeled Labour’s statements as meaningless.

“Australia is an important part of the F-35 fighter aircraft program. We are the only one who makes pieces such as bomb compartments in the world and we work as one of the few regional distribution centers.

“Two -year -old empty speaking points from the Government of Albanians do not destroy more people while watching a real -time genocide.”

Shoebridge argued that components were accepted as weapons under international law.

“Watching Defense Minister Richard Marles, it is compelling to refuse to answer Australia’s weapons parts and defense materials to Israel to Israel,” he said.

“The people of Australia know that the Albanian government allows Israel to allow export of armored steel, F-35 weapons and other critical materials to Israel.”

Shoebridge said that if the Albanian government stops exporting F-35 parts to Israel, its fleets will be grounded over time. “Albanian choosing not to do this makes us a criminal partner,” he said.

Donald Rothwell, a professor of international law at the National University of Australia, said that the export of Australia’s exports to IDF’s IDF’s component weapons “contributed to the Israeli military campaign in Gaza”.

“Part of the difficulty is that weapons can be too many components. Some components may have been exported to Israel for civilian use, but then it may have been used for weapons,” he said.

“A clearer location that Australia can take is that if there are objects of Israel’s Diplomatic, Legal and Political Objects to the Gaza occupation, all exports can be suspended for now. This will be the clearest way to ensure that Australian exports do not contribute to the Israeli military efforts in Gaza.”

Rothwell said that he would not be as decisive as Senator ShoeBridge in terms of interpretation of international law ”.

Guardian Australia reported that in November, Australia had changed or passed to Israel’s export permission for at least 16 defenses. A spokesman said that all permissions were approved before Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attacks and none of them were approved for weapons or ammunition.

. ABC reported in April It was one of the dozens of Drone technology of a remote weapon system designed and built by an Australian company, tested by Israel this year.

The Australian International Justice Center, which is a non -profitable law center, is among the organizations that question the government’s military export allegations.

Prime Minister Anthony Albania, Australia’s Israeli War Cabinet members are appropriate sanctions against members and other issues will not explain to the public, he said.

“What we need to do here is that the Australian government should be very clear expressions and actions that make a difference rather than answering a slogan in a protest,” he said during his visit to New Zealand.

Albania said the government wanted hostages organized by Hamas and asked for emergency help to stop the emergence of “humanitarian disaster” in Gaza.

Andrew Hastie, Australia’s opposition housework spokesman, told SKY that Netanyahu’s plan to control the Gaza City is a “very risky offer ve and could contribute to the human crisis.

“It would be incredibly difficult for the IDF troops to move and become clear.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong, in a joint statement on Saturday, joined Germany, Italy, New Zealand and England, and Israel’s plan will already worse a dangerous situation and risk violating international law.

The Supreme Court of London decided that the export of F-35 fighter aircraft components to allow Israel to allow Israel, although Britain acknowledged that Britain could be used to violate international human law in Gaza a month ago.
