Security Lapses At Srisailam Temple

Kurnool: The Temple of Srisailam faces serious security tours by risking the safety of the dedicated.
The Temple Chief Security Officer, which should be filled by the DSP-Shrank police officer, has been empty for the last three years. In the absence of a qualified senior officer, a temple employee holds the rank of inspector.
The NGO position was created to coordinate more than one security teams, including private security agency personnel, home guards, armed police and SPF concerts. Without proper monitoring, these teams work without effective control.
Roll calls are made for all security personnel, while the personnel are not used to give information about vigilance or task -specific instructions and lead to errors.
The safety infrastructure of the temple is also insufficient. There are only a few door frames metal detectors and some browsers are reported to work. This facilitates not detecting prohibited products. A total of 500 cCTV cameras were installed in the Srisailam area and a command control room was established near the executive officer.
However, cameras are monitored by security guards who need to manage other tasks such as tail line monitoring and reduce their ability to focus completely on surveillance.
Trained home guards with experience at the Police Department are mostly assigned to traffic control instead of core temple safety. This gap allowed events such as Hundi theft to be noticed or detected too late, as inexperienced guards were deployed in critical areas.
Temple sources say that when NGO mail has been filled in the past, security arrangements are much more efficient. They warn that leaving this task empty for such a long time leads to preventive risks and endanger both the temple property and the safety of the dedicated safety.
A senior temple official said that most of them required to stay in the Temple Town and control activities, most of them were not interested in joining as NGOs. The decision was left to the state government for more action.
